TESTIMONIALS

"I’ve seen significant improvement in my lower back and hip pain since starting physical therapy here. Mack is knowledgeable, supportive, and has helped me regain mobility, allowing me to exercise more comfortably. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for effective and personalized care!"

- Isabela

"Highly recommend! I was seeking relief from knee pain, but I feared treatment wouldn’t be worth it as I was working on a very limited time basis. Mack didn’t see my time restraint as a problem and worked with what we had. In just a little over a month I went from barely being able to walk my dog without pain to running as I did before my injury, giving me renewed confidence."

- Colin

"I have been treated several times by Dr. Mack and each time I’m amazed at how he ACTUALLY LISTENS to my concerns, my pain and takes it seriously. I’ve never had a PT give the 1-1 attention he offers, the multiple treatment styles in one appointment and can physically feel relief so I know it’s working."

Dry Needling for Pain Relief in Clarksville

Dry Needling is also known as intramuscular stimulation (IMS) or trigger point dry needling (TDN). It is a safe and effective treatment used by licensed physical therapists. This technique involves using small, filiform needles to penetrate the skin and reach muscle tissue. There is no injection of medication or solution involved, hence the name dry needling.

This is a great treatment if you are looking to reduce pain and decrease muscle tension.

Dry Needling Process

Before Treatment

Dry needling is one of many techniques that our physical therapist uses to treat your specific painful area. We will always do a thorough clinical examination before undergoing any dry needling treatment.

During Treatment

Most of our patients report feeling little to no discomfort when undergoing dry needling treatments. Our highly-trained physical therapist knows how to make the process as painless as possible; however, some patients may still experience a “twitch response” with the insertion of the needle. This is comparable to a quick muscle cramp or ache.

After Treatment

The 24-48 hours following a dry needling treatment may result in muscle soreness. Sore muscles can be treated at home by doing some active recovery exercises and drinking plenty of fluids. Dry needling can speed up recovery time and allow you to return to your daily life as quickly as possible.
